I apologize for the crappy pic (off of my TV) but it looks like this...

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-2/955896/P1010137.JPG rotated 90 degrees!

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-2/955896/P1010143.JPG This one is slightly better

Just wanted to say, I'm a longtime lurker at mf.com but newly registered. Great site!

Thanks. Too bad about the quality though. I guess I'll have to wait for the high-res version which will probably be up at starwars.com soon enough. Hopefully.

Oooh, very nice.
I wasn't sure the first time I looked at it, but then I brought it up again, then again, then again, and despite the quality of the capture I love it.

thanks for the caps, guys.

It's ok. I'm a little disappointed, but hopefully it'll grow on me.

Still better than most movie posters though...

think it may be the quality of the image that's throwing a few.

no new poster shine.

up close it's probably sweet.

It's not as good as some of the fan-made ones I've seen, but it's still better than the teaser poster.

I liked the teaser poster. Just 'cos it was hilarious what people decided they could make out in Anakins cape.

Ugh, I hated that part of it the most. It's supposed to be a poster, not a magic eye.

Wow - this is awesome - what a week! First the poster, next the trailer! May can't come quick enough. Thanks for the mirror posts of the poster!! It looks like it will be awesome but I will hold off until I see a clear, high res version. It appears that maybe Palpatine looks somewhat strange - or is it just me. I can't wait to see the high res version once it's posted on the OS.

I would too, but it's not the resolution that bothers me, it's the placement of everything. Vader's mask is fine, but everything else just doesn't feel right. Especially Palpatine, he should have had a bigger spot.

I think my main issue with it appears to be the image of Vader lifted from ESB when at the end there's the telepathy between him and Luke.

If LFL changed or altered Drew Struzan's original Ep3 poster artwork as is being suggesting(by T-bone?), my guess is that the pic of Vader is what was changed. It seems awkward.

I agree with Sotha - something is off in the placement of everything...

The vader helmet is perfect. And the duel center on is great - abliet too large which is what is throwing off the placement of everything else.

I think we have access to most of the photos used to make this, I'd like to see a fan version with the exact same elements but with better placing.

Heck, if I knew the photoshop trick to make the photos look painted I could make a better one.

That's a little better. Wait, is that Yoda doing his "flying frog pose" off to the left there? Wow, now the placement feels REALLY wrong. Thank the Force for Photoshop.

I think the poster looks great. It just doesn't look like Struzan art to me. It looks like they took all the promo images and made a collage.

No single Star Wars poster would appease all fans.

There are probably a few different versions of the thing, and the most striking imagery was chosen as the final.

I can think of a ton of cool ideas, as could anyone here for a poster, but it doesn't mean we're all going to like it.

It looks fine to me, in line with the other Star Wars posters. Noticed how many sabers are on it and more importantly, how many characters? ;) Episode III is a pivotal moment for all the characters -- and the poster reflects this.

Other than that it's really a matter of taste guys.

With complete respect to Drew Struzans' work...

I personally think this poster is sub-par.

It looks rushed to me. Obi-Wan looks horrible and the image of Vader whoring the background.... ugh! Compared to Struzan's work on the previous posters, this is the most disheartening.

In the past, I have looked forward to Struzan's poster as much as the full trailer release for each respective film.

This is a great disappointment for me.

I could give a shit about these posters. I don't buy them and they have no bearing on the movie. That said, it looks pretty terrible. Notable absences, not very good alignment, and Palpatine looks horrible.

Whatever, though.

That means nothing. They aren't in the ANH and ESB posters either.

Threepio's in TPM poster and he's in the movie for 10 minutes.

EDIT: Struzan should re-do the OT posters. The ROTJ one sheet is a mess.
