Since the Clone War cartoons lead directly up to Episode 3, it's not possible for Anakin to lose his arm.

He'd start ROTS without one.

This is crap... Anakin has upgraded and tickered with his arm himself in AOTC... that is why it looks different from AOTC to ROTS... the cartoon version has nothing to do with it... and it is impossible for him to lose it now... too lose to ROTS

Here is a shot I took from VHS, crappy quality. Maybe some can get a cleaner one. Clearly, arm missing. As for being too close to EP3, well, Anakin got an arm quick enough last time to escort Padme back to Naboo. And Luke got his hand replaced so I don't think there is like a waiting list. ;)

Shouldn't this be in the Clone Wars Forums instead?

I thought about that but thought that the implications it had on EP3 warranted it being placed here. If not right, I apologize.

Sorry to go potentially off-topic, and feel free to take this discussion to the CW thread. However- it is a question to be answered- did you get this screencap from a copy of episode 25, or was it from the preview in 24?

Well, if he does lose his arm, it's just another example of the EU not syncing up with the films.

What else is new? :whateva:

Clone wars cartoons arent EU. They have been specificlly stated as Canon. They are lucas's encorsed lead up to Episode III. It cant really be that Hard to put a new arm on. Luke had his cut off an dput on in the same movie.

If you have been following the time line, the knighting of Anakin took place in the first episode, by the second a month had passed and we see Anakin's hair growing into the familiar epIII look. Obviously we are getting very close to the epIII credit roll because the battle has started. Now we just got to get our heros back in town to save the day. Lovin' It!

Get the fuck out of here with that crap. If it's not in the movie it's Expanded Universe. Mace windu isn't superman, Kit Fisto cant create Giant force bubbles that fly though submarines, and droids don't joust when lasers and missles are available.

Anything as important as a new arm for Anakin would be discussed in the movies themselves.

The Clone wars are ok. Kinda fun at times even, but they're cartoons. Give me a break with this "official continuity" crap.

The movies are the important beasts in the SW story everything else is filler. Including these cartoons.

I agree 100% there, Ziggy.

If Anakin's arm looks different in Episode 3, we don't really need a lame cartoon to "explain" it. If his arm looks different than it looked at the end of AOTC, then saying it needs to be explained is like thinking C-3PO's one silver shin needs to be explained in ANH.

It looks different because it looks different. Maybe he tinkered with it over the years, as one would expect he would.

:monocle:

By the way, I hope ILM digitally adds a mole to Alec Guiness's forehead in ANH, otherwise the whole saga will be ruined for me...

Well, they do have him lose his arm, and he rebuilds a new one for himself.

The cartoons were entertaining. I'll definitely give them that.

The cartoons are pretty cool, even though alot of the stuff they do in it are very clearly not real...possible...but its certainly cool to see what goes on in between the movies.
