Did you try running a slight concert hall reverb on your mp3 after you compressed it? I found it spaced out the channels pretty well and opened up the recording a little, although the chorale is still a little tinny, but short of isolating that part in the mix (which I can't really do) I figure we've got it as good as we can get it, Biggs.
