Wow, so the guy who played Palpatine in TPM is the same as the guy who played Sidious the whole time?

Yeah, of course I did. But you'd be amazed at the number of "common folk" out there who next month will see this as a major revelation.

I think it means that Palpatine was trained in the old ways of the Sith, while Maul, Vader, and Dooku were trained in Palpatine's own version, which is probably aimed to limit the apprentices' power.
