Ask Ewok Pudu about Episode III

Postby darthpsychotic » December 11th 2003 3:03 am

Hopefully Mr Pudu plays along with us :weed:

Ewok can you describe what you know about Kashyyyk and it's inhabitants the Wookies?

Also what's this about Palpatine, his age, and Anakin?

If you've had access to any lines from the movie, not just artwork or synopses, what's the coolest line you know about, and who says it?

Ewok can you describe what you know about Kashyyyk and it's inhabitants the Wookies?

:chewbacca: It's less like Endor, more like lagoon world. Big water areas with GIANT trees (it may even be, one HUGE tree with other huge solitary trees off in the distance) Or they might make it a forest of big trees. Not sure. Remember, planets are big places, so they can do anything they want w/o nullifying what has already been established about the world. I would call the Wookies the elves of the Star Wars universe. They are very advanced technologically, but still very in touch with nature. Their boats are all curves, almost leaf-like. Big curved propellors, etc. You saw their new guns already. There was the picture on the OS and on the documentary, all the guns on the left were wookie designs. All the guns were designed by Feng. (www.artbyfeng.com)

Also what's this about Palpatine, his age, and Anakin?

I don't have much beyond what I already said. I don't even know how the dialog deals with that topic. I was given the impression that Palps is an old sith lord, tricking the galaxy with his Chancellor Palpatine disguise to put himself into ultimate power. No clue how this is explained to Anakin in a way that will convince him to sign up.

How accurate is this picture?

DM13, that one has all kinds of problems. No single visor, no clear brain plate up top. The one that came the closest was Aaron Ault. aa-grievous07.jpg

That one still has issues too. He is more skinny in the torso, his hands do not split like that. No clue on the cape or lightsabers. I don't know how he wears them since what I saw was a 3d model. It had no details like accessories.

Do you have any details on the four tough guys that Obi-Wan fights (other than they are very skinny, cloaked, and have weapons that are effective against Jedi)?

No idea what Grievous henchmen look like. I know their weapons are long pikes. I believe the lightsaber deflecting ability of those pikes extends the length of them. I couldn't tell you if these guys are humans in power armor, skinny aliens, or a different type of evil battle droid.

what is the colour of Anakins saberi nthe duel

If I had to lay money down, I'd say red. Lucas avoids having duels that are same color vs. same color at all costs. Still, that pic from TOS sur e looks like it had a silver tip didn't it? For all we know, this could be Ani during the Dooku duel (although, if he looks like THAT during the Dooku duel, I can't imagine whe he is going to look like during THE duel).

- Who exactly has the ANH blade Obi Wan gives to Luke throughout EpisodeIII?

No idea. See the JC QnA topic for my guesses...http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=13967633&replies=347

- Does Yoda fly back from Kashyyk to the Jedi Temple, and if so, is the rampage of the Temple taking place as he arrives? Also, Is Obi Wan there or does Obi Wan never steps foot on Coruscant again after the beginning crash/battle?

I believe the ransacking is taking place when him and Obi arrive. Obi goes back to Coruscant with Yoda after their adventures on Utapau and Kashyyyk respectively. I was under the impression that Yoda fights Palps in the jedi council chambers while the place is being ransacked. Obi has already left to go find his former padawan at this point. He starts by going to see Padme.

- Who's shooting at Bail Organa and why?

I was told stormtroopers, but it wasn't a definite thing. My impression was that he was fleeing after they broke up a loyalist meeting.

- If I were you and you were me, what would you ask me that I would answer that would make you poodoo your pants because the information is SO FREAKING UNBELIEVABLE that I haven't mentioned before or that I have more information or insight that would warrant me telling it again?

Good question mate. I think I already hit all the biggies.

If you've had access to any lines from the movie, not just artwork or synopses, what's the coolest line you know about, and who says it?

I don't have a script bud. Sorry. The only line I was told (and not sure if it was paraphrased) was from Palps. "She is dead, you killed her." and it is said in a very non-chalant, matter-of-fact way. I can just imagine the delivery in full Emperor ROTJ voice. Can't wait.

You guys are funny. :P

Why not ask all this stuff in the JC in your normal sock forms?

I have not gone to the JC in over 2 years. They have way too many prequal bashers for my taste.

Just about all the information that starts there filters down to less annoying sites anyway.

Kinda like this one.

um, like I have been permbanned from theforce.net boards since October 2000. As far as socks go, there are 123,000 members at theforce.net boards and it's sometimes hard for me just to pick out one name to post with ;)

I agree. I'm sure this has happened. My point was only that you dont have to go to TFN to hear about any reports that might actually originate there.

To Pudu:

Based on the sum of what you've been exposed to, what are your overall feelings about episode 3? (Outstanding, great, good, meh, crap, etc.)

I typed up this nice long reply and I guess I took too long doing so cause the board ate it and now I'm sad.

So you kids get the quick version now.

DP, respect that I have some common sense. You make it very obvious who one of your persona's is on the JC.

Reek, no clue. Some could die in the space battle, some could die going with Mace to see Palps, some could die during the clones turning montage, some could die defending the temple from Ani and stormies.

Ziggy, I'm pretty stoked. Ep 3 is shaping up to have all the moments I've been wanting to finally see paid off since I found out they were finally making a PT. There will be plenty of cringe stuff that makes the PT what it is, but I avoided getting details on that. If you hate Jar Jar, Ewoks and 3PO's dialog during the battle of Geonosis, you'll have stuff to dislike in Ep 3 also.

Resident, don't be an ass. If I could share I would. You've honestly seen cooler stuff in BTH pictures recently. The burnt ani picture was tiny, cropped, blurry and looked like bad photoshop.

Hemingway, you must have missed it but I did reply:
http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp? ... 33&page=11

Go to that page and do a search for daedalusdoom and you'll find your question and my answer.

I'll hit the rest next time.

Guess I'm in luck. I've liked both prequels, Jar Jar doesn't annoy me, ewoks rock, and C3P0 in the battle of Geonosis was funny. I've always liked these films as cool kid movies.

The only things that concerns me are the episode 3 choking of Padme, and the "burned Anakin" scene. I want to be able to take my nephew. I hope GL maintains a PG rating.

Ewok, did you ever see a pic of the new Jedi Tie Squadron Fighter?

If so, please describe it for us.

Also some of the spy pics and derived fan art show the new ship with different wings.

The pic shows a small snub-nosed ship, with two wings sticking out front and the sides:

http://www.movie-vault.com/images/news/starship.jpg

Other pictures show just two long wings extending out, towards the front.

Well, I have a pic that I thought was just an old version that wasn't being used.

When I saw all the renditions that went up on tfn and t-bone's, I figured their insiders were more up to date.

After seeing that above pic, I'm now convinced that what I have is much more accurate.

It also tells me that the little wings on the side fold up while in flight (lock s-foils in attack position anyone?) The ones in that pic are clearly folded down into the side of the wing. Explains Pablo's comment about the fighters having a feature that closely resembles the toy.

The main lasers run down the front of the ship (on the inside of the wings) from in front of the cockpit to the tip of the ship)

I'll talk to somebody about doing up a pic of it. He knows Photoshop better. Watch the fansites for it.

Ewok_Pudu,

The pic you have of the new Jedi Starfighter was given to you by Josh from tf.n. It's a black and white drawing of the ship slanted at a downward angle with a small figure of a man standing next to the ship's front end on the left-hand side of the image. I can tell you more if you like.

No, didn't get the pic from Josh Griffen.

The pic I have doesn't feature the starfighter as the centerpiece. It just happened to be in the picture.

The picture itself is of the Seperatist Cruiser hanger on its side.

I've only seen one JG image of the starfighter and it is not as you described. So if JG has others, he didn't share them with me.

Well, out of all the pics I have (which exclude the JG pics), it isn't the most interesting one. I'll just leave it at that.

Just about all the JG pics that I've seen that are not "the 3" specifically requested of me on a regular basis, are all pretty cool. (the 3 that get asked about...the twins, Palps as evil baddie, and the first crispy Ani pic) are all kinda weak really.

Why do you expect anyone to listen to your speculation (or it treat as more than speculation for that matter) when you refuse to provide any proof of what you have seen?

I don't need to prove anything.

Enough of my stuff has already been confirmed.

And I've already explained far too many times why you won't see the pictures come out of me.

You might see more variations on what I have in the future, but making new spoiler pictures isn't my primary concern right now.

If you want things to go back to the way things were before I revealed anything, then by all means, discuss how Mace is the jedi traitor who erased the files.

It doesn't matter either way to me. I just try to help steer people in the right direction instead of wasting time.

It much be such a trial dealing with people like me who don't follow your nuggets of shit around the introweb! Thank you so much for replying to me and suffering my ignorance! I think the only reason present in your mind for not posting your pics is that as soon as you give up them up you'll be reduced to the fucking know-nothing dickhead you really are. You're like the rich kid with the cool toys in primary school who wouldn't share but would let people look at the latest Ninja Turtle figures because it made him feel popular.

Please don't become defensive, Pudu, as that is not my intention, but you're pic of the Jedi Starfighter must indeed not be very impressive, because that drawing you based on it is wrong and outdated.

That's why I figured that you simply had in your possession this old art department variation that was considered/discarded early on. Josh also had/has this pic (which is quite detailed, by the way), and from what I've been hearing as of late, there is someone else with it who is now trying to pass off this old design as the final version. These are the circumstances that have brought me here, and to you.

To be specific, the entire back portion of the ship the way you had it drawn is wrong. The proportions in regards to the wing design is also distorted. It just doean't look like that. At least, not anymore.

That's the thing. The small trangular wedges in the back hanging out of the back of the ship were in this old concept pic. As is the detail around the back area of the canopy. But these details are no longer in the actual production model.

In fact, anyone who has seen a good shot of the fighter on set would instantly know this. The only details of the ship that you got moderately correct with your new rendition were things that anyone can now plainly see anywhere on the net.

I can tell you what the fighter really does look like. And perhaps better, I can show you.

If you innocently came across this old pic, and unkowingly assumed that it was some new info which you could trickle down into the fan sites, well, that's one thing. But to delibertly try and repackage old, outdated material to pass along to the masses is wrong.

Well, like I said, I always assumed the pic was outdated, since its based on a roughed out 3d model used for blocking out areas for the art department.

What surprised me was that, after seeing all the pics that came out at one point of supposed "realistic" shots of the fighter, I assumed my pic was indeed old and wrong.

Then I saw the latest Insider pic (see above) and realized how much closer the one I had actually was. Nobody was putting that wing divot in before.

I thought my pic was interesting and showed the fighter from a different angle, so I decided to share. Not trying to fool anybody. I did ask that the pic be modified from its original format so as not to incriminate the person who gave the picture to me.

Well, if you ever want to see the real thing, let me know.

Now, let me clear up a few other things. There are no pics of the twins yet. And this is simply because there were no infants/babies on set during the course of the film's principal photography. The actors (Padme, for instance) were filmed holding a covered "bundle" in their arms, but the close-ups revealing the faces of the twins have not been shot as of yet. Those, as well as a few other little bits and pieces, are scheduled for the pick-up sessions. These scenes will then be edited together with the earlier scenes to seamlessly create the illusion that Padme (and Ben) were walking around holding real babies.

So the point here is that anyone floating around here claiming to already have pics of the twins either is blatantly lying, or needs to run their alleged "hard evidence" through a few Photoshop filters.
