Postby OboeCop » April 29th 2005 3:31 pm

Guys,

Just had to share/gloat. Just got media tickets to a screening May 5th in Minneapolis... gonna have to rework the 'ole work schedule, but there is no way I'm passing this up!

Yes, but will YOU have the nuts to sit a camera on your knee and tape the whole thing, then post it on mf.com? If not, then kindly fuck off. :whatevaho:

Now... into the garbage chute, flyboy.

Now that I've been properly flamed and am all toasty warm, i'll be happy to post a review...

though it's funny that Robbie says I'll be banned, when his avatar is bigger than my house ;)

edit: Okay, it's fixed. Move along...

Avatar fixed :)

It appeared small on my screen. Mozilla issues. :)

And Oboecop put away the Swedish Dick Pump for a second and edit the thread title to something a little more informative.

Hey... I stand corrected.

By all means, get rid of the post... When I got the tix, I shot my wad all over my keyboard, and in my effort to sponge the spooge, I made this post.

Still, I'll post the review when the time comes...

i remembered buying a bootleg VCD of AOTC days before the movie was released. I was informed by the VCD vendors that the VCD was recorded from a media screening.

Apparently, its gonna happen to ROTS too.

a straight download is better than buying VDCs from dodgy vendors, methinks.

let the recording began. :chewbacca:

I'd be jealous, but I'm seeing Serenity the same day, so I think I'll live.

Watching Star Wars in the theaters is much more than just seeing what will happen next. Its about joining the MADNESS that comes with premiere night!!! I'm NOT insano enough to camp out for months in front of the theater, I got a life. But its the GLORY of watching StarWars with a charged and pumped collective of fandom.

I really doubt a special closed screening will have the same croud energy before, during, and after the theater experience. Watching Star Wars in the theater is like going to a good rock concert. Its not just the music, its getting caught up with the collective energy!!!

Minus the beer of course, thank god. Imagine a mass of drunk Star Wars fans... drunken saber fights between sad fat frat boys and their toy sabers.... ruin the experience they will.

In conclusion.... I don't envy you one bit.

The flaming serves a dual purpose as new members reading the post will learn from it and if it stops one person from posting a pointless thread, then well isn't that somewhat okay?

Actully, I think it may actually encourage pointless threads, but that´s just me. :cathead:

May be the first test of the Family Entertainment and Copyright Act that Bush recently signed then. Would you be willing to risk 3 years in federal prison by posting a copy of the movie? Not I, that's for sure...

I don't want to start a big political debate about this, but seeing as how it was just signed into law Episode 3 may indeed be the first movie, or one of the first, to test it. Unless there is more red tape the government has to do before it becomes enforceable, I don't know.

Edit: Of course, if it's posted out of the US then no worries for the poster, but if BitTorrent or similar is used to d/l then it may be argued that the pieces being shared would qualify as posting it...

It's allright, all you have to do is edit out all the non "family-friendly" stuff out of it, create a company called "safe family fun happy happy films inc." and distribute it out without fear of the new legislature.
