Hayden Christensen TRL May 02 2005

Postby TiniTinyTony » April 30th 2005 12:04 am

According to MTV.com

Monday May 02 2005
Hayden Christensen brings the Force to Times Square; plus--Jennifer Lopez.

-------------

So if Hayden is bringing the force with him, you think he will also bring 'A Hero Falls' music video to premiere on TRL? If my memory serves me correctly, TRL was where the TPM and AOTC music videos also premiered, so I guess it would make sense, right?

Thoughts?

Maybe someone will want to capture the music video, if they play it, and host a better version. If not that's cool because it comes out the next day. I love seeing stuff that I've seen on the internet air on tv. Sure I've watched the tv spots countless times, but when one comes on tv I turn up the volume and tell everyone to shhhhhh.

The DVD is called "A Musical Journey", so there will be 16 music videos with all the important themes from the Saga, such as DOTF, ATS, BOTH and IM...

It's very cool. It runs about an hour and 10 minutes, with Ian McD introducing each segment. Personally I think it's the answer to "how would you introduce a newbie to Star Wars?"

I have the whole segment, but it's pretty much crap. What was mentioned though was that on May 13th, TRL will be doing a one hour show from the Ranch devoted completely to Star Wars.

I really hate this show, but my dumb ass will be tuned in. :heavymetal:

Did you hear the music in the background? It's from Track 9. Obi-wan vs. Anakin. Go figure. While listening to the soundtrack for the past month I was wondering what was happening on screen during the force theme part of that song, and it's when they are using the force push. Awesome.

Not really. His childhood dog is creamated on his (parent's) mantle. He would cancel the Bachelor if he could cancel any show on TV. He loves to listen to Eminem. And he calls his mommy 3 to 4 times a week.

Great post. There was some damn fast lightsaber action going on in that one. Is it just me or did anyone else notice the weird editing that occurred right before Anakin and Obi-Wan did the saber twirl thing? For a minute they were in two different positions from where they started and then the switched back when they locked sabers. Maybe it was just a diff camera angle or maybe it was just me.

It's a different shot/angle. Watch it again. For the beginning of it, Anakin is on the left and Obi-wan is on the right, then right before the twirling, Obi-wan is on the left and Anakin on the right, then when they meet lightsabers, it switches back. And if you remember from the GL interview on 60 minutes, that shot where they clash is two digital characters (8 seconds into trl_clip2.mpg).

Yeah that messed me up as well. Check the bodies on the floor and it is just a really bad camera angle switch. Problem is that you spend several shots used to Obi-Wan on one side of the camera and suddenly we pull away and he is on the other side. But if you look at the bodies on the floor they are in the same place, just a really weird angle-change.

Look again. The bodies on the floor are behind Anakin, and they remain behind Anakin after the angle change.

Nice to see that scene in which they are just swinging their sabers then switches to the CG shot mixed well. I was sort of wondering what was going to happen to that from the 60 minutes interview

That scene was pretty damn sweet. One thing I didn't like, or at least bothered me was when they flew. It didn't look "intense" enough. It looked really weak.

EDIT: nvm, watched it again, and it does't bother me anymore.. weird. :?

Yeah, I remember that camera angle switch disorienting me when I first saw it on the 60 minutes segement. I had to watch it a few times to see what happend. I'm no film student but doesn't that camera move break the 180 degree rule where the camera is not supposed to move beyond the half circle established in a single shot?

Agreed. The only thing worth watching in my opinion is their "True Life" series when they have 'em or their Real World\Road Rules, which I don't watch anymore because it's wearing kinda thin in my opinion. Still nice to see some hot chicks everyone now and again though.

Does anyone know what Hayden talked about on the show? Is that the only clip they showed?

Neither am I. And I enjoy the film very much... too much in fact, considering this is the first time I have done anything remotely close to complain about anything in it. The shot is fine, but I can see some people thinking "Haha! I caught a BLOOPER!" and being wrong because the shot is a rapid change in perspective.

It is probably also accentuated by the shortness of the clip. In the context of the whole duel it will not be noticed.

EDIT: Took another look at it, it really isn't bad at all. But, as happened to some people, I see how it could be confusing. The rapid cutting of angles makes it work.

Right on. It took a couple of watches to even notice that it was anything out of the ordinary.
