If Spielberg was being dis-honest, or just wanted to dodge the question, he would have said the movie was good, amazing, or use some other adjective. If he thought ROTS was as good or better than even the OT movies, I am sure he would have said it, instead of saying its the best of the PT movies.
My expectation is that ROTS is the best of the PT movies, but still inferior to the OT movies. Spielberg's comments support my mind-set. I need all the support I can get. The hype is trying to drive up my expectations, and I dont want that to happen.
