Postby BOBAFETISH » April 5th 2004 11:04 pm

I may go see a movie on that day....

Seriously, though, as bad as I want to see it, I'll be a little sad as well. I mean, that's it. It's done.

No more retarded speculation, no more arguing over theories, or clamoring for spoilers... As impatient as I've been for the other films, I plan to savor this last year of anticipation.

If the movie ownz, I'll be happy that SW went out at the top of it's game, but I'll also always wish there was more. There's always the fact that GL is a huge liar to give me hope that he'll do more, or at least allow someone else to do them.

Regarding the opening--I never go at midnight. I work the overnight shift, and I sneak out early the next morning and see it pretty much with the theater to myself. I almost cried when the music chimed in when I first saw TPM. I know that's pretty ghey and I'll get no end of shit for it, but that's how great it felt, after waiting 17 or so years.

I don't blame you mate. The first showing of TPM on opening night I was with friends but they may have well been aliens from Uranus. I was in my own little surreal existance and couldn't quite come to terms with the fact I was watching a new SW movie.

EPIII (damn where's that acronym?) will be the same - midnight @ FOX Studios. I can certainly wait the next 407 days because I know it'll be all over that night at about 2.30am. :(

I always go to the first show of the morning. Same movie. Matinee prices, and no odiferous campers to sit next to.

Make no apologies. I know the feeling.

Yeah, it weird. It's a feeling I can't quite describe.

A few years ago, we could always say there's two more...there's one more.

After this, it really is all over.

I'm expecting it to hit me - hard.

This time next year will be a strange time. As jazzed as I'll be for the movie premiere, I'll also have this :( feeling.

It's something I guess we'll all figure out at the time.

Yay! I will be at Fox Studios with the rest of the Aussie bunch. I just hope they don't show half an hour of ads before EpIII like they did for AotC. ARGH!

No! They became movies after the release of the PT!

I doubt the buzz around Episode III will reach the same scale as it did with AotC. Which makes me happy.

Only the fanbase discusses the movies anyway. The others just copy and past the usual posts/polls/topics on certain messageboards.

Not even 10% of their bullshit is interesting IMO!

I don't go on opening night. I don't like to wait till midnight with a bunch of pro-plus'd-up fan boys who compete to see who knows the most spoilers by loudly announcing plot points in the line.

I much prefer to go on the evening of the first full day of release, with a group of friends who will enjoy the movie for what it is.

I was saddened at the end of ROTK because I knew there would be no more. I felt empty at the end of Matrix Revolutions (for entirely different reasons), and I'm pretty sure I'll be depressed at the end of EP3.

I don't remember feeling sad at the end of ROTJ because (a) I was like 10 or something, and (b) it was a fitting end to a great trilogy.
