Anyhow, there's nothing I can say that you guys haven't already heard a thousand different ways from people around here and elsewhere that have caught the flick.

From the sheep point of view, there's alot of 'holy shit', 'fuck yah' and ' moments that will make the film to some the best in the series. People have asked me if it's better than ANH or Empire, and I'd have to say 'I don't know'. It's much different. I love Empire. It's my favourite movie of all time, but is it so classic that it can't be replaced? I don't know yet, and I'll need to see 'Sith' about 10 more times and solidify it's place in the saga before I can really start ranking.

The delivery is fine. I expected a different 'Noo', but I wasn't like 'Oh this sucks'. If you've seen the Energizer Bunny/Vader commercial from like the 80s, that's what I expected (The saber fizzles out and JEJ yells 'NOOO'). It's more shallow in the film I think.

Personally, I think that scene would play well without any noise. Just have Sidious say she's dead and zoom into Vader's mask. We can imagine the horrifying reaction underneath. In fact, its more pitiful that way. I find that whole scene touching and I haven't even seen it yet. This Frankeinstein of a man wants to know what happened to his beautiful bride, as if it makes some difference considering his deformed state.

No, I was referring to when he posted in March that a friend emailed him a review of Sith.. I just found it via the search function and it's so off-base, it's amusing.

CoGro then backpedalled and said to take it with a grain of salt... this is after swearing up and down that he can trust his friend 100%.

Second, I can't wait to see it again. There's alot to absorb in the movie, and since I went in pretty spoiled, it was quite easy for me to follow what was going on. As a film, it's just very entertaining.

Although I haven't re-read it, I do remember it, and I didn't see it the way you do. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember it saying that CoGro's source was trusted at the time, but the info was sketchy at best. Hence his "take it with a grain of salt". I am by no means jumping on anyone's bandwagon on either side of this, I'm just recalling from my horrible short-term memory.

Anyways, I'd like to ask a question about the film. Do you remember what was playing during the end scene with Vader, Emperor, and Tarkin on the Star Destroyer/Attack Ship bridge? If it was the Imperial March, was it like the original "triumphant" version or a more dark and gloomy AOTC version? Thanks.

I've had the option open for more than a week now to see it via a marketing rep. I didn't actually want to go because I wanted the first time excitement of opening night, but I caved.

I was talking with FB about that scene yesterday, and for some reason I remember hearing the Imperial theme from ANH being played in some form. I did watch ANH right after, so my mind could be playing tricks on me but for some reason I'm picturing the reveal of the skeleton Death Star with that cue. Either way, the march plays and it isn't the AOTC version.

I forgot I was supposed to ask a question. Now, I read that the title track on the soundtrack isn't the same as the opening crawl and such, and that the soundtrack version can be heard during the Utapau invasion. Is this true, and if so, what the heck is heard during the Coruscant battle? I love the transition in the soundtrack version and I was really hoping that version was intact in the movie.

There is new music during the space battle not on the soundtrack. The title track is split up, some of it taking place much later in the film.

You've got to see the soundtrack as a collection of concert tracks, not the score as it exists in the movie. All the soundtracks have been like that. Some of the best music in the film can't be found on the soundtrack.

To be honest, the first thing I thought of when the crawl finished and the music changed in the opening was that it sounded just like the music that was played at C3 for the footage Nigel uploaded a few weeks back. I think it came from VanHelsing.

Obviously, VanHelsing is not in the movie, but those hard, pounding, drum beats is what I remember muscially from that scene. After that, my other senses were overloaded from the fucking crapload of visual stimuli that came at me.

There was an extremely positive response. Alot of people stayed behind to listen to the credits. There was a cheer from the audience when the movie ended and during the film there were a few parts that made the audience gasp.

It's going to sit well with the general public, but I'm still waiting on some reviews to tear it up.

Shame that a lot of the recorded music didn't make the soundtrack. The OT Soundtracks were better, where it pretty much had the entire movie's music on there, just splitted up (if I remember correctly...)

Totally agree. And they should have the Emperor in there too because it's the only film that doesn't have him. Actually all the movies would be better if they had everything the other movies had because then they'd all be as good as one another and that would be super-ultra-sweet.

Not true. I've been listening to all of the SW soundtracks lately, including the "Complete Anthology," and the OT original soundtracks were definately put together as concert suites, leaping from one piece from one part of the film to another piece from earlier, etc.

I have a couple of questions for you CoGro:

I know you're asking CoGro, but I can weigh in a bit.

1. How was the opening shot with the Star Destroyer and the jedi fighters flighing through the battle?

About the only shot that I thought was kinda lame was a shot where some object got on Obi's fight (I don't think it was a buzzdroid. It might have been R4's severed head). Anyway, it was blown off his fighter by some sort of "space wind." Other than that, the opening battle is gorgeous and will take several viewings to soak it all in.

2. How was Yodas CGI work this time around? Any laughable moments with him?

Excellent. He looks odd w/o his robe. Laughable? Well, I laughed when he came in and took out the Imperial guards. He just used the Force on them. It was like they just crumpled.

3. And if you rated this film out of 10(with 10 being the best), what would you give it?

Tough to say. I guess compared to the rest of the hexilogy, it pulls about a 9.

What is padm'es death scene like? Is it well acted?and is her funeral very long?

It was sad. Well acted in the sense that Portman lies there very well. I'm sure her actual funeral was very long, but in the movie, it was about 1 minute max.

Were any of the Teranian reports rendered true? I mean I really want to see Qui-gonn in this damn thing.

For the last time, Qui-gon Is-gone from this movie. He appears in name only.

Regarding the Council scene when Anikan is appointed on the council without being a master.... hows the flip out? "does he scream "I am more porwerful then any of you!!!"

He gets a little pissy, but Mace puts him in place, and Anakin apologies IIRC. He bitches about it later to Obi-wan though.

How is the slaughter of the Sepratists? any great one liners like we read in the teranian reports? I kinda liked some of that vader humour.

No real lines there. I did find it funny when Vader shows up and shuts all the doors.

Also how is the slaughter at the temple and the jedi?

Less was shown than I expected. Most of it is done by the clonetroopers.

I don't really mind as long as Vader sounds like Vader, and not the Teaser Trailer "Yes Master", which was so videogame voice-actor sounding Vader.
But if it isn't why not, okay if JEJ were dead they would have no choice, but he isn't which is no reason not to use the original source, if you get what I mean, and JEJ not getting credit on end titles is fishy, 'cos he would 100% get credit if it was him, maybe not on the first name leaps but certainly when the scrolling starts.

First, that shot, as we all saw it leading up to this, is actually reversed. In the movie, Vader is turning away from the camera, after slaying the seperatists.

Obi-Wan is not much of a force in the Dooku fight, but that didn't change my belief about him beating Vader (mainly because I know that Obi had to be taken out so Anakin could start his Dark Side journey).

My feeling about RotS has always been: hopefully it will be able to compensate for its worst parts. In my universe, it doesn't have to in the first place, but it's George Lucas' universe, complete with that inimitable brand of humor we've all come to know and tolerate.

So far the reviews I trust, and why not add CoGro's to that list, seem to feel that it makes up for its weak points, though I suspect some reviews are more forgiving than I am. As a visual effects artist, I've seen more atrociously bad CG-Stunt-Double shots in RotS than in any other film, and that's just from the spoiler footage. And I hate slapstick. I heard the stupid R2-being-kicked-around moment was out; thank god for small blessings. Anyway, I'll be seeing it twice on the 19th myself, as I know the first screening experience will be replete with psychological baggage.
