I suppose by "BEAVER" you were referring to me? I don't believe the hanging pics were the ones taken down. They were taken by someone watching the crew film in Chicago I believe and are free game.

A pic of the joker when he dresses up as a cop to get close to someone. Wearing makeup, but you can see the scar across his face though!

Here's the deal on this scene from GPD_Officer @ SHH forums:

[spoil]

The mayor gets shot during the rifle salute at Commissioner Leob’s memorial.

I was one of the police extras on Saturday and Sunday (doubt me if you will, I can offer no proof here). There were indeed errors in the thread starter's report, as suspected.

1) Joker does indeed shoot at someone during the Commisioners funeral :The Mayor. They filmed him doing so from some angles and not from others depending on the shot. The 10 Officers doing the rifle salute are Joker and his goons in disguise.

2) It is Loeb's Funeral. The Mayor is speaking about Loeb. We were not told of anyone else being memorialized. We were also not told if the Mayor lives or dies, only that he is "having a bad day". No one rushed the stage. Joker takes off through the crowd after the shooting. Gordan jumps on the Mayor trying to save him.

In regard to the Joker:

I was within feet of him. He had some sort of prostethics on for the scaring on either side of his face and makeup; lots of makeup. We could not tell if the white on his face was makeup that was rubbed off, or if the Joker was supposed to have applied flesh tone over a white face; could have been either. This was a hot topic amongst the extras all day. He is indeed very, very creepy looking.

[/spoil]

BTW, Anthony Michael Hall plays a TV reporter in the film (HollywoodChicago.com):

[spoil]

HollywoodChicago.com:

I received a series of e-mails late Monday night hinting at unreleased, highly specific plot information about “The Dark Knight”. My source requested a phone interview to reveal this information.

This information comes definitively from working hours on the set on Sunday, Aug. 19. This information exposes the widely debated role of Anthony Michael Hall and his involvement with Batman/Bruce Wayne.

Hall’s character plays an investigative TV reporter for the GCN, which was photographed on Aug. 19. The scene shot that day, which is about three-fourths of the way into the film, goes like so.

Hall’s character is intensely jealous of Bruce Wayne. He even has an exactly matching Lamborghini Murcielago.

The character learns of Bruce Wayne’s true identity as Batman and plans to use the GCN to blow the whistle on him. My source describes Hall’s character not as a villain but as an antagonist.

Of course, the Joker is the true villain. Out of fear that the Joker will lose the object of his game-playing affection, he sets out to stop Hall’s character by calling in a bomb threat to the TV station.

The bomb threat causes widespread havoc. The move is designed to steal the attention off the character so he can’t issue the Batman-revealing report.

The source also submitted some pictures of a Lamborghini on set. This source spent time speaking with Anthony Michael Hall and in a PA meeting. He/She did not sign a confidentiality agreement.

I haven't seen this movie yet (obviously), but I allready like this joker a lot more than Nicholson's. That has more to do with the story than the actors, mind you. The plot in TDK seems a lot more interactive for Ledger than the 89' Batman was for Nicholson. I approve of creepy violent (and more accurate) Joker. Nicholsons great and all, but looking back, I think the casting agent was getting some killer hydro-skunkola smoke.

BTW- "Beavervomit" is so much grosser sounding than "bearvomit". It reminds me of spoiled pussy for some reason.

Nicholson was one smart MFer though. His deal from Batman included a large percentage of the merchandise take. He made over 60 million in the end! :monocle:

They're blowing up an old factory right about now that is being filmed as the Gotham Hospital! It's reported there are school busses in front of the building, probably related to the bank robbery busses.

Here is a first hand report from a SHH poster who got to be an extra during the hospital shoot:

Alright, here goes the first set report from my stint as a hospital patient extra. Wednesday morning I awoke bright and early (4:00am to be exact) and then proceeded to go to the set for my 5:30am call time (I went with another fellow SHH member). We parked in the extras lot and were shuttled to the set. It was pretty impressive to drive in through the gates and see the "hospital" buildings illuminated in the early morning light. The shuttle bus pulled up the to extras holding area (which was a large tent located next to the trailers, etc). We all filed out and then into the tent to receive our voucher and have our name checked off of a list. After doing this we moved to the wardrobe tent. We were told to bring pj's, slippers, robe, overnight bag and extra falling clothing. I changed into the robe and pjs and then moved onto the next phase of the tent. A few women from the wardrobe department deciding if it looked alright and then gave me some sandals to wear as slippers (since I didn't bring any). After the wardrobe tent it was on to hair/make-up and props. Apparently my hair passed the test and I didn't need any makeup so I moved to the props line. There tons of bandages, oxygen masks and other medical apparatus on a few long tables. Everyone got a hospital wrist band (my name was "Jonathan Clark"...too bad it wasn't Jonathan Crane ).

After waiting around to get an additional medical prop they decided I didn't need one and I moved back to the extras holding tent to await the trip the set! After a while we were told to line up outside (the patients, cops, national guard, etc were broken up into separate lines) and then we were led to the set itself. We moved to the main Gotham General Hospital building. As I stood waiting in line for my placement Chris Nolan, Wally Pfister and Heath Ledger (not yet dressed or in make-up) walked right by, discussing the day's shoot.

I was chosen with four other guys to be brought to the gray Gotham Correctional Bus. We were placed at the back of it and told to move around inside of it. A driver got in and moved the bus across the lot to the ambulance entrance. After a few minutes the back of the bus was opened up (I was sitting on the last seat right at the door) and Chris Nolan, Wally Pfister, the AD, Anthony Michael Hall and another crew member stood there looking inside at us. They all looked in, puzzled. AMH piped up with "What is this, the gay bus?" All of us laughed pretty hard (I suppose it was comical to see 5 guys dressed in PJs sitting alone at the back end of a bus). "What are you guys doing in there?" Nolan asked us. I responded: "Someone told us to get in here and sit down". "Right, don't move then" he responded. And then they started to map out the shot. It was great because Nolan and Pfister stood right there at the back bus door, inches away from me, setting everything up.

It was amazing to watch Nolan work up close (he is my favorite living director and one of my major influences...so I was blown away). A train roared by and Nolan turned to look at it. "Great, now we have that f***ing train noise in the background" he said, a little annoyed. They positioned a nurse and a police officer at the back end of the bus to pretend to check us in, etc. The shot involved the camera starting at the front of the bus and follows a police officer as he runs to the back end, stops and yells into his walkie-talkie "Davis?...Davis!!" and then runs off screen. The camera is trained directly into the back end of the bus so hopefully you'll get to see me in the background! After doing a few takes of this they decided to alter the shot a bit. And then came a shock. Ledger was moving through the crowd of all the extras in full Joker make-up and a pink nurses uniform (complete with hairy legs, weird shoes and those crazy socks) while smoking a cigarette. Everyone was laughing, it was a incredibly hysterical and oddly disturbing sight. He moved right over to Nolan and stood there right in front of me. Nolan was grinning at the sight of Ledger. It was a priceless and ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT sight. I wanted to jump right off the back of the bus and shake Nolan's hand. He gave Ledger some direction and then Ledger moved off to the next bus where there were a line of nurses and hospital workers. He stood next to the nurses and then hunched down, making a REALLY creepy face as he puffed away on his cigarette.

They did the shot a few more times, this time with AMH running over to the cop and asking him for info about what was happening (he was holding a GCN mic and a TV camera crew followed him).

Then they moved on to more shots of mass chaos and patients being evacuated from the hospital. They did tons of takes with various different camera set ups (hand held, steady cam and crane). There were also shots done with the camera copter (which was hovering REALLY low over the chaos). After finishing all of these shots (and there were a lot of takes) we were moved back to the extras holding area. We stayed there for several hours. They fed us lunch (pretty good too) and then shortly after that the hospital building was blown to hell (which I am sure you have all seen by now).

After a few more hours of sitting around we were called back to the set. The wreckage of the building was pretty impressive. There were crew still working to put a few of the fires out and what not. The buses were repositioned (with a CTA bus now changed to a GTA bus with a bit of blue tape...pretty funny). We were told that these were reaction shots to the building blowing up behind us. They wanted mass panic. Pfister got the camera on his shoulder and then they started the shoot. People were running all over the place, yelling and trying to get on buses. It was f***ing great to be running as Pfister and Nolan weaved through the crowd (Nolan with his portable monitor) right next to me. Nolan was shouting "come on, I need more panic...a f***ing bomb is about to go off!". As people began to crowd into the buses the AD moved through everyone, crouched low with a gun. He began to fire off blanks which simulated the blasts from the building. Everyone had to duck down accordingly as they all went off. We did this scene for many takes and then at the last one Nolan yelled "Brilliant!" and we ended that portion. We all grouped together and the AD said we did a great job. There was a round of applause from everyone and some thanks and then we were moved back to extras holding to begin the wrapping process.

We changed, filled out our pay vouchers and the moved outside. I picked up a few Joker crew t-shirts (they are purple and there is a joker card on the front with green lettering that says "The KNIGHT will be DARK..." and on the back is the logo from the Joker's 18 wheeler complete with "Slaughter is the best medicine" and then underneath that is says "Chicago Summer 2007") for myself, my little bro and a couple friends. We didn't end up getting out of there until around 7:30pm, so it was a long day but it was AWESOME.

The poster also indicated that after the hospital explodes:

This is a shirt given to the extras in the Chicago filming. Now the new hotness rumor is the finale is at an amusement park. And guess who's performing at the park? ... The FLYING GRAYSONS!

I know that Nolan always said he wouldn't be involved with the Robin character in his Batman movies, so I would hope this is just a wink to the fans. If Robin becomes a permanent member of this franchise, Dark Knight will be the last version I see in theaters.

Y'know...character development is everything. If done right, all these cameos will be incredible characters later on, if not in the third, perhaps the fourth or fifth. Robin's development over several movies would be ideal. You can have the Grayson disaster in the second film, Dick can become Bruce's ward in the third, by the end of the fourth Robin could be developed well enough to fit into Nolan's world.

i wouldnt mind a cameo by the Dick Grayson or his family, what i would mind is to have a Robin character join Batman at this stage (or even in the next movie). i want this trilogy to be all about Batman at the start of his career, thats the original intentions of this whole project anyway, show Batman's beginnings and how he became the World's Greatest Detective.

I don't want to see Robin at all. I certainly don't want to see him in the second film, not even a hint. 3rd film as a brief 30sec cameo, but as was said above this is the BATMAN trilogy we've all wanted, it's about Batman and his beginnings, so to speak.

You can bring Robin in after 3 films have covered Batmans "growth" if you HAVE to, but I'd prefer the Nightwing character more than the Robin character...have him "join" Bruce as his ward, but split off to become Nightwing but give him more edge so his motives are maybe not as clear cut as a "sidekick"

Thats the way it should be done, Batman doesn't need a sidekick...just like Jack Bauer, James Bond and other great action heroes don't need a sidekick

I agree just a cameo for Dick Grayson and his family will be fine but to actually have Robin join the films now if that happens it'll be another fucked up Batman saga I too hated the ones with Robin.

finally some news. but the exclusivness of this makes it kinda suck.

7 min preview

"There's been some whispers of it happening, but this is the first time I've seen it reported online. According to OMELETE.COM.BR, a 7 minute TDK prologue featuring The Joker (Heath Ledger) will be shown in IMAX with I AM LEGEND. Obviously, it'll only be paired with the IMAX showings of Will Smith's latest.

"See You in December" makes a lot of sense now, doesn't it! "

Maybe this will sneak online somehow.

Just to warn you; the pumpkin may begin to rot after the candle burns down:

Image

New article from Kino.de. The main points are summarized below:

[spoil]

- In TDK, Batman will travel to Hong Kong on a “gangster hunt.”

- The first five minutes of the film will be shown in IMAX theatres with "I am Legend." The “prehistory” of the Joker is the focus of this sequence. "However, the film is no ‘Joker Begins’ because we don’t reveal how he became what he is," specifies director Christopher Nolan. "During these five minutes, (audiences will see) how the Joker goes from a smalltime crook to the most-dreaded gangster in town. It’s more of a ‘The Rise of the Joker.’”

- The new Batsuit has sonar detection. When the sonar is activated, white lenses push from his mask over Batman’s eyes.[/spoil]

I would be SOOO excited by this, if I didn't actually dislike The Long Halloween.

But don't get me wrongo, for the movie I have big hopes. Perheps mostly because Johnatan Nolan has written the screenplay.

Let us hope WB does a decent reboot for the man of steel to match the new Batman's class.

Can someone possibly extract that audio?

I'm going to assume he's talking to Batman and referring to his "no killing" rule.

Fuck, makes me think of John Doe trying to get Pitt's character to kill him at the end of Seven.

Heath's performance is totally going to blow Nicholson's away.

New Two-Face scene described!
shh
[spoil]Image

Eric Roberts character is Maroni. He throws acid at Dent's face in a trial. Two-Face later in the movie catches up to him in a limo and flips a coin and shoots the driver. Maroni later is killed.[/spoil]

New Joker info from Latino Review
[spoil]The Dark Knight begins with the Joker robbing a huge bank (we’ve seen photos of this everywhere). The bank is where the mob and all the gangs in Gotham keep all of their money. The Joker takes this money and holds it “ransom”. The Joker then says to the mob and the gangs of Gotham, “If you help me take down Batman, you’ll get your money back. If not, I’m going to burn it all.” This is how the Joker assembles his army to take down Batman.

new Michael Caine interview: http://www.earthtimes.org/articles/show/147580.html

Quote:
London, Nov 25 - Sir Michael Caine said the Joker's role played by actor Heath Ledger in the new Batman movie is as good as Jack Nicholson's in the original 'Batman' released in 1989.

Earlier, Nicholson had expressed his displeasure in not being asked to reprise his role as Joker in 'The Dark Knight', however, Caine, who acts as Alfred the butler believes Ledger's portrayal of Joker is nastier, ananova.com reported.

He said: 'The problem was, how do you top Jack Nicholson as the Joker? Heath Ledger plays the Joker and he is fantastic. I couldn't see how Jack could be topped but he's at least equal to him. It's extraordinary. Jack's Joker was a very nasty old uncle, this Joker is a maniacal, murderous psychopath.

'And when you see the make-up - he looks like he's mentally gone. He puts the make-up on to disguise himself and then goes and never takes it off again, or washes, so gradually it looks like leprosy. I'm a great fan of Christopher Nolan. I thought 'Batman Begins' was the best Batman I'd ever seen. And I think this one will be better than that.'

The movie is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale as Batman
