I am quite disappointed that scene isn't in the film. It would've been classic, and yes, it would've strung the OT and PT together nicely.

I can hope it's reintegrated into the DVD as long as that asshole Neeson agrees to do the part.

I just don't see how having the QuiGon dialogue or not changes the film drastically at all.

On the other hand, don't you think the inclusion of the "Lost Twenty" in AOTC would have been a good idea? It think it would have.

I think it would have for sure. It would have added to Dooku's character. That stuff is important...certainly more important than an alien saying "jedi poodoo" during a car chase.

It wasn't my purpose to annoy you, I didn't take little bits of your post out of context or argued about every sentence you wrote, that it shows you are totaly wrong or something like that, it just allowed me to write a few direct answers to your points.

This cut won't ruin the movie for me, but I think the QuiGon dialogue added a lot to the rest of the film, I already tried to explain why, but you seem to see things a bit differently then me or perheps it's just the fault of my not-so-good english and I can not show my point of view properly.

I appreciate your point of view, and I do understand wanting to hear QuiGon. It's a neat way to more closely tie TPM back into ROTS.

However, just having Yoda's conversation with ObiWan clearly illustrates that he has been communing with Qui Gon, and either way we get that Qui Gon still exists in the force, and has something to teach them.

Anakin coming back as a force ghost in ROTJ, demonstartes that this is possible through love. So, I don't think the extra dialogue is neccessary.

I'm completely indifferent about the Lost Twenty concept. Who cares? Whether it's mentioned or not does not change Dooku's part in the Clone Wars at all. Who cares that other people have left the Jedi Order or not? In a thousand years, they're bound to lose some.

Damn too bad that we won't hear Qui-Gon, at least he's still the reason they learn about the ghost thing.

In a way, it makes sense to cut the scene because during this time in the filim, it should be about Yoda and Obi-Wan and their plans for the future. Their characters set the events of the Original Trilogy and we should feel that.

Having Obi-Wan's reaction to go by instead of hearing Qui-Gon then seeing Obi-Wan's reaction and question is better suited for the film and the overall story.

Though I agree this wont impact the Story Much,
I can say that this being the last movie and all makes
me really anxious for things to be fullfilling.

I would have liked to have Jinn in a spirit or voice in this movie but as long as they just mention or talk about him is good for me.

The exclusion of the Qui Gon/Yoda conversation is poor filmmaking in my opinion.

You can't suddenly reintroduce a character in passing who's been absent since The Phantom Menace.

"Obi Wan, in a scene which the audience did not see, I talked to Qui Gon, your old master, the one who died two movies ago, ya know, the dude who the audience no longer remembers?"

*audience is clueless as to why Qui Gon Jinn is being brought back into the fold*

I'm not trying to attack George or anything, but this was one scene which I personally feel was integral to the development and understanding of the Jedi's relationship with the force, and it shouldn't be introduced in a tacked on conversation in passing.

I just feel that George dropped the ball by not including that scene because I think that it would've added a lot to the Star Wars mythology and to the concept of the living force.

it is indeed extremely disappointing qui-gon is not in it at all. so all we get is a few words from qui-gon in ep2 and yoda mentioning it to obi-wan in ep3. how can people not see the problem with yoda suddenly leaning over to obi and saying oh, i have have been gabbing with qui-gon. hopefully it will be put back/in the dvd version of the film.

Though I think Liam Neeson is AWESOME, I can accept Qui Gon not making a visual appearance as so long as the revelation is executed in a dramatic mysterious way. If so, that mystery will intensify in Obi-Wan's de-materialization in ANH. It will finally, it will intensify the pivotal revalation in his dramatic return in ESB.

I doubt I can ever relive the shock of seeing Obi-wan unexpected appearance in Hoth or Vaders revelation to Luke. But it would still be nice to be shocked once again by the story. Of course reading these spoilers in this here forums does not help that.

Of course the sheep in me demands Liam's appearance, but the linear story development side of my head says otherwise.

Well, from most reports his absence was due to him refusing to do the part. Which is very petty of him if you ask me. The professional thing to do is come in, do the three or four lines, and be an adult about it.

I highly doubt that Liam Neeson refused to do the part. You think he just threw up his middle finger at Lucas and walked away? Especially considereing everything he's said in the past--things like his playful "jedi code of honor" quote make me highly doubt that.

I agree. It happens every time. And they only need Liam Neeson for dialogue. His appearance, in the glass (as I've been told), can be put in digitally using old footage of him.

Man, if it's added back in, I will be extremely happy! Qui-Gon's voice and ethereal image, in my opinion, is necessary because he was such a central part of TPM and a much bigger part of the entire story, than I ever imagined. Relegating him to a couple lines of exposition is weak. Especially since no one besides the die-hard fans will remember Qui-Gon Jinn from Sloe Gin Fizz. God I hope he's in there, that would be sweet.

Plus, it just would have been cool to hear Qui-Gon and Yoda talking to each other again.

I've heard that the cuts of the movie for regular theatres and digital theatres are different in some ways (could just be wild rumours), but if so, maybe Qui-Gon is in one of them. If not, I guess I can wait for the DVD.

Remember Darth Maul being cut in half wasn't in the press screenings. So it is possible for Liam to be in the final release.

I always thought that there is the possibillity of the pre-screening version being edited in a slightly different way. If I were Lucas, I'd do that too, in order to surprise the spoiled hardcore internet nerds like us...

So maybe, even Mon Mothma is still in (wasn't she mentioned in the ending credits?) and VERY MAYBE, Lucas exchanged the names of the twins during the birth scene. Maybe in the theatrical version Padme touches and looks at Leia, not Luke. Wouldn't that be a halfway satisfiying explanation of her remembering her mother?

She's talking about Padme. Luke's question and her response to him don't make sense if you assume she didn't knew she had a surrogate mother. Besides, Lucas has explained his intentions with this piece of dialogue several times and he seemed also a bit embarassed about how he finally "forced" those memories on Leia.

In any case, there won't be any surprises. What the critics are seeing is what we're going to get, don't set yourselves up for dissapointment.

Qui Gon's not in it. It would've helped the film in my opinion, but there's no use crying over spilt milk.

We should all be anticipating the film regardless.
