This is for you all that go to work on a daily basis. Are Americans overworked? A lot of other countries limit the work week to 40 hrs max (france), force you to take a mandatory 30 minute break periodically by locking your computer (the Netherlands), or take entire months off at a time (Germany). Here it is midnight, and I've been at work since about 7:45 am. It is absolutely ridiculous to be working for 16+ hrs a day with no overtime or anything. Needless to say, I cannot wait until my house is closed on so I can quit my job and go be with my girl. I cannot stand it when I have to work like this.

Seriously though, I definately agree with you. I heard recently that there is absolutely no proof that working one's ass off 80 hours a week makes one more productive or wealthy. In fact, they now say that the least efficient workers are the workaholics.

Definitely doesn't help financially if you don't get overtime. I do though, so that is cool. Although I figure sometime in the next 2 years, I will be salary so no more overtime.
