Bander, do you mean that souring over TLJ lead to this "fan service?"
I assume it takes at least a year to produce the episodes. So, I would say probably not.
In general, Disney seems to believe that most of what it does Star Wars-wise is "fan service" (even when its not received as such).

What else do we expect these new episodes to explore? Sorry for the shitty list. I'm far from being the encyclopedia that E_CHU_TA! is.

Am I an encyclopedia? I would say probably not. I don't know.
There's also the Cad Bane and Boba arch on Tatooine. Wasn't there mention of an arch about Dooku and his motivations?
I wonder what hasn't been revealed previously? Is there an arch about Obi-wan's back story?
In terms of additions: I wouldn't be surprised if Depa Billaba, Caleb Dume, Hera, Chopper, and the Grand Inquisitor poke their heads-in for a few moments.

I call some BS here.
This is about more than just #clonewarsaved
This is the early promotion and build up to IX as well as the Disney streaming service.
Willing to bet IX will feature Ahsoka, Ezra and Thrawn as well as Skywalker and Kenobi.
Maybe Rey will be trained by Ahsoka, or she'll school Kylo on his grandfather.
Most Stoked since the Episode VII trailer dropped.
J.J. mentioned that he liked the Clone Wars. But, he largely wants to do his own thing. So, I doubt it.
Also, I hope he leaves the animated characters alone as I don't think he would do them justice.
I think that the show's return largely has to do with Disney's need for a certain quantity of "new" content for its streaming site. And, thank goodness for that need.

Give us animated Underworld next, Disney. Please?
